Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris

The heart of Paris, in July-August, with fewer people, less cars, I love. Every year, we really appreciate these walks in the center of the capital.

If you are with your children, I invite you to visit to "Notre Dame de Paris".

Indeed, throughout the summer of 2009, young volunteers from around the world, as every year, spend a few weeks "in the shadow of Notre-Dame" in the international community to Home.

They provide a host of pilgrims and visitors by offering to accompany them in a discovery of Notre-Dame de Paris, for his spiritual message through its history, its architecture, stained glass, the facade ...

This summer 2009, more than twenty young people from France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Italy, Poland and Russia which offer, Monday to Friday, visits in french, English, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Russian.

These tours are offered by the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, and thus free, and they last about one hour. Recipients can at the end of the visit, if they wished, make a donation to the Cathedral to participate in the accommodation costs of these young volunteers.

The point of information / appointment is behind the pulpit (see map above). Schedules and language visits were subject to change daily, so it is best to call the home to the cathedral to know: 01 42 34 56 10. These tours are offered Monday through Friday for Saturday and Sunday.

 

Children's workshop in Quai Branly Muséum

Yesterday, we went to the Musée du Quai Branly with children. We have lunch at the coffee Branly. Simon participated at the children's workshop : "Doudou" Valentine, Felix and I have listened to a story we tell the adventures of a little girl named Rena, who travels America in search of his lost shaman. Indeed, the museum offers 5 narrated visits for family, one per continent presented in the museum: Asia, Africa, Oceania, North Africa and America. These visits last one hour and are really passionate children, a great way to make them love museums. The guide, disguised in traditional dress, tells the journey of Rena which begins in North America, where she used to hunt seals to protect against the cold and eat. Rena then gives us a traditional dance to a pole, then to her announcement that the shaman of his tribe is lost and must find it. Arming of courage, Rena began to walk across the continent: It comes down to reach the Amazon in South America, then goes back to the Caribbean islands. Advice helped various wizards, we discover during the journey the Incas, Mayas, Astèques the Mastèques, cross the Andes, talk to animals who are asking us to explain to people to stop destroying their environment ..... We discover a dozen works from the museum (Party America) and the legend that Rena will, at the end of his journey, the shaman long sought. We, certainly, will participate at the other 4 narrated visits! Practical Information Price: € 6, every Saturday at 14:30 or every day during the holidays. Visiting Louvre with your family

We went to the Louvre last Saturday for a visit on "the stories of ancient Egypt, 7-12 years", program from the family visit in the Louvre. "

I was a little scared of theme for this workshop because I was afraid that the children are bored but it was just the opposite, and more.

We have been fortunate to have an extraordinary speaker, Sandrine. This outstanding narrator took us over an hour and a half, 3000 BC, through the stories of Egypt. At the same time funny and expressive, we've all been captivated by all these stories.

For example, we discovered that the fable of The Fontaire "The lion and the rat" was simply a repetition of an Egyptian story, how mummification was created, how the gods have prevailed among men and then ceased to govern the Egypt ...

At the end, everyone wanted to continue the stories, especially as Sandrine ended on a never ending story because Egyptologists have not found the papyrus ending. Children were stopping and asking our best cultural visit with children and without children elsewhere!
